Are Body Wraps Just for Losing Weight?

Many body wraps on the market today focus on how you can lose weight faster by applying oils or a salve and wearing a wrap for at least an hour. While they are helpful in losing weight, wraps have many other uses that are not often addressed.

Why are wraps beneficial?

Did you know that when essential oils are applied topically to the skin, a lot of the oil evaporates off before it is able to be absorbed? This is why many people are trying to find ways to maximize the effectiveness of the essential oil by trapping it on the skin so all the oil can be absorbed.

What are some different types of wraps?

Saran wrap or plastic wrap is one way people trap the oil on the skin; however, using plastic wrap can be dangerous because the oils break down the plastic and release dioxin into your skin cells. (Dioxin is a highly poisonous toxin that is increasingly found in breast cancer and other cancer tissues.)

Another and safer way to trap oils on the skin is to use a hot compress. Typically to create a hot compress, you soak a towel in really hot water, wring it out, and apply it to the desired area. While this method uses heat as well as water to effectively drive the oils into the skin, it is not a solution that can be left for more than 15–20 minutes, as the towel tends to get cold over time and it needs to stay wet to be effective.

A new kind of wrap has recently been developed called the Terra Body Wrap, and we are excited to offer it among our product selection.  These quality body wraps are designed to be used with essential oils, as they won’t break down during direct contact with the oils. They also don’t require heat or water because the material is not as breathable as a towel.

What are some other features of the Terra Body Wrap set?

  • The wrap closure is sealed with a no-scratch hook & loop fastener, allowing the user to apply the wrap without damage to skin or clothing.
  • The 4-way stretch material lined with Velcro loop creates an easy, customized fit.
  • The wrap is bacteria resistant and able to be used with essential oils.
  • Their durable construction and stitching make the wraps machine washable and ideal for years of use.
  • The wraps come in a variety of sizes and are to be connected to create longer or more versatile applications.

Other than losing weight, how else can you use the body wraps?

This body wrap set includes 2 large wraps, 2 medium wraps, and 2 small wraps. You can use all of these wraps at the same time to target many areas at once or use them individually for specific needs.

The small wrap is perfect for use around the head, ankle, wrist, forearm, shin, elbow, or upper arm. Have a bad headache? Try applying peppermint essential oil, and then secure the small wrap around your forehead and relax as the oils penetrate the skin.

The medium wrap works well around the knee, stomach area, or on the shoulder when combined with the large wrap. Did you sprain your knee? Try applying lemongrass essential oil, and then wrap your knee.

The large wrap can also be used around the stomach, shoulder, top of shoulder (when used with the small wraps), or groin area (when used with the medium wraps). Does your stomach hurt? Try applying ginger or a digestive blend of essential oils, and then wrap the medium or large wrap around the stomach area.

Just think of all the ailments this wrap set can be used for! Any topical application of essential oils could be more effective when a wrap is also applied. You can even combine them to use them for tricky areas.

Where can I purchase the Terra Body Wraps?

You can purchase the wraps at AromaTools (9836 – Body Wrap Set) along with already prepared essential oil sprays for some common ailments (9836F – Body Wrap Juices).
