Our long-awaited app upgrade is here—and worth the wait! Of course, we’ve added all the new 2018 essential oils, but there’s so much more. In fact, Modern Essentials® Plus is a complete app makeover for an amazing user experience. Here’s an introduction to just a few of the fabulous features and how to use them!
First, your options. You can simply download the “Basic” option for a one-time fee. Or, you can add a “Full” subscription at a low monthly or yearly rate for added features and updates.
AromaTools is a true third party and is not affiliated with any essential oil company. This allows us to produce educational resources about using essential oils for health purposes. We have your health in mind and do not benefit at all by the oils you purchase.
None of AromaTools’ employees (or employers) are distributors for any essential oil company. This means we will never try to sway you or your downline (or potential downline) to join a different team or company.
AromaTools leads the essential oil industry in publishing the most current scientific resource for using essential oils safely for health purposes. Since 2008, AromaTools has been dedicated to producing and publishing Modern Essentials: A Contemporary Guide to the Therapeutic Use of Essential Oils as a resource to enable you, and all essential oil users, to more easily and confidently use essential oils in your everyday life. Now on its 8th edition, Modern Essentials is currently published in 10 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, German, Slovak, and Italian. Four more languages are currently being worked on and will make an appearance soon!
AromaTools ships all over the world and currently has formal distribution in 4 regions: the United States, Australia, Europe, and Canada, each with their own website and the ability to accept their own currency. We also have informal distribution in several other countries. You can find our international websites and more information here.

We really enjoyed the Leadership Retreat in Anaheim, CA, this year! We had so many great discussions with the leaders who came into our space. In case you missed this event, here are three great tools we have available for everyone: Social Media, Modern Essentials, and our Events Program.
Have you seen the newest videos we’ve made available on YouTube? These videos quickly highlight some of the fantastic ways essential oils can be used. Check out this example below!
These new videos are great for teaching about a single essential oil and its primary uses. Try sharing one of these videos at the beginning of your next essential oil class!
You can also find AromaTools™ on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. On each of these social media platforms, we share essential oil recipes, craft ideas, business-building tips, class ideas, new products, coupon codes, and essential oil spotlights.
Some of the leaders indicated during the retreat that they follow us on Facebook but don’t ever get updates in their newsfeed. If this is a problem that you are having, let’s get it fixed! You don’t want to miss out on another recipe, class idea, coupon code, or contest! Follow the instructions in the following image:
This blog is one of our favorite ways to connect with our customers. We are currently looking for individuals who may be interested in being guest bloggers for us. So be on the lookout for those posts in the future, and let us know if you are interested in writing a post yourself. Learn more about this opportunity on our Call for Guest Bloggers post.
The Modern Essentials family of resources can help you in a variety of situations. We are currently working on multiple translations of the Modern Essentials book. By the end of this year, we anticipate having translations for the 6th edition Modern Essentials in the following languages: Korean, Dutch, German, Slovak, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional).
Each person who came to pick up their free book during the retreat received a handout that included the following information regarding compliance and the Modern Essentials book.
AromaTools™ has many resources to help support you with your events. One of the lesser known resources that we were pleased to share with Leadership attendees is our Events Resources page. On this page of our website, you will find the Happenings newsletter with current promotions, recipes, and product spotlights; a PDF version of the most current AromaTools™ catalog; and links to essential ideas, our YouTube channel, and the AromaTools™ Event App. All of these resources are available to you for free to help enhance your classes.
Thank you for letting us share some fun things about our company that we included as part of the Leadership Event. We look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming Regional Events in May!

Here are a few rules that you will need to abide by should you choose to be an AromaTools® guest blogger:
All posts need to be relevant to our audience. (What would other essential oil users and business builders want to read about?)
You are welcome to give some personal background, but we ask that you do not endorse yourself or your website in the post.
Blog posts can cite research that you’ve done on essential oils, quote from published books (like Modern Essentials®!) and other literature, and share experiences that you have had using essential oils; but the post should not contain health claims about what specific products will do.
Your work needs to be original. You cannot copy anything from another blog, website, book, etc. without giving proper credit.
And here are a few things that you can expect from us:
At AromaTools®, we always strive to be the best of the best! Only the best thought out, most original, and most relevant guest posts will be published on our blog. We reserve the right to quote pieces of your post submission on other relevant posts with credit to you.
In order to comply with our rules and regulations, we reserve the right to remove or change any trademarked product names or health claims.
Great information is worth sharing! Once we have published your post, we reserve the right to link to it and share it on our social media sites, website, and other venues that we see fit. We also encourage you to spread the word about the post you have written for our blog through any of your social media sites!
Because we place a high value on producing professional content, we reserve the right to review and edit all posts for grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
If you feel like you have a good, original idea for a blog post and would like to be an AromaTools® guest blogger, please share it below! We are excited to see what you come up with, and we know that our readers will love to learn from your experiences using and sharing essential oils.

The Modern Essentials App has recently been updated to include the blends section! This app is available for iOS and Android devices. You can purchase the app on iTunes or in the Google Play Store. The update is free for current Modern Essentials App users.
Check out this fun video to see how this app is useful!
There are numerous ways you can use this app to find the information you need. From the home screen, you can look up a condition or an oil by either using the search bar at the top or by tapping on the figure to the left. Just tap the figure in the area you are wanting information for, and scroll through the menu that pops up to find the appropriate condition. The “Search” button on the bottom of the screen will bring you back to this page.
If you click on the “Conditions” button on the bottom of the screen, you will be taken to the conditions page. This represents highlights from the Personal Usage Guide section of the book Modern Essentials and contains the primary (red) and secondary (orange) recommendations. Scroll through the conditions by spinning the thermometer at the top of the screen. You can easily hide or view the thermometer by tapping the arrow at the top.
By clicking on the “Oils” button on the bottom navigation bar, you will be able to look up information about a particular single oil. This section represents highlights from the Single Oils section of the book Modern Essentials. Spin the oil bottle at the top of the screen to look up a different oil. You can easily hide or view the oil bottle by tapping the arrow at the top of the screen.
The “Usage” button will take you to a series of pages providing basic information about the topical, aromatic, and internal applications of essential oils. This section contains some information provided in the Science & Application section of the Modern Essentials book. Many of these information pages in the Usage section contain pictures, charts, or videos to demonstrate the topic.
NEW! The “Blends” section allows you to look up information on the blends listed in Modern Essentials. Personalize this section by renaming the blends simply by holding your finger on the current name and typing in the name of the blend you use. The changes made here are reflected throughout all the relevant areas in the app.
Where do I go to purchase the Modern Essentials App?
Do you teach classes or hold other essential oil events? Would you like free catalogs and pens to hand out to let your students know where they can purchase the book Modern Essentials or other essential oil–related products, such as bottles, bags, and diffusers? If so, you will want to see what we have to offer!
We, at AromaTools®, recently started a program to send you free stuff to give away at your events. We will send catalogs, pens, AromaTools® gift certificates, or products to give away. Just remember to give us a 2 weeks notice so you can receive your free goodies in time for your big day.
Another fun way to have us at your event is to show a video about the book Modern Essentials or AromaTools®. We have created a few videos that can be used for a quick break or as a fun introduction to how Modern Essentials can benefit essential oil users. Each video differs in style, so you can find one to suit your needs.

Highlights of the Ceremony
We would like to thank all those who attended the groundbreaking ceremony. It was an exciting and memorable experience. We enjoyed hearing several brief speakers––including Adrianne and Evan Thomas, the project architect, the general contractor, and AromaTools™ owners Alan and Connie Higley. Each expressed their excitement for this project and what it will mean for the future of AromaTools™ and our ability to offer additional services to our customers.
After the short ceremony, the Higleys along with their family put on their hard hats and construction vests and broke ground with their golden shovels. Everyone had the opportunity to join in and turn a little dirt, even the children!
We are thrilled to have this building project under way, and we are thankful for the support of all our loyal customers who have helped to make this project and our success as a company possible.
